Westfalia detachable towbar

Post by stevo6 » Thu Sep 04, 2014 9:54 am

Anyone have the Westfalia detachable tow bar (same as OEM)?  What do you do with the swan neck when it's removed?  I've tried to make a foam insert for the under floor boot cubby, but it looks a but rubbish.  Any other ways to nicely store it?  What was the factory solution?

I thought they came with a high density polystyrene moulded holder that goes at the back right of the boot?  The one for my X6 did, and the boot is basically the same.  It has Velco straps to hold the towball assy in place and it holds the key as well.

Part #6 in this diagram is what I would be looking for.

Does anyone have a picture of this fitted please, so I can see if it will fit my car OK?

Thanks

Certainly matches Realoem.  Shown for all E70s.

It goes in the hole to the right of the tools at the rear of the boot.
