On lookout for 3.0sd 7 seat sport

Before others suggest LCI, facelift, 40d, yes I would love to but budget is where it's at 2008 region 3.0sd 80-100k

Missed this one which went for £18k I think

Do these come with comfy access, where the steering wheel coloumn is electric and goes up when the car is switched off?

What's the difference between adaptive and standard xenons?

Not that I own one but on the E53 the steering wheel will do that (standard spec) not just a comfort access option. E70 boys can confirm that...

Adaptive move with steering direction (I believe).

Power steering wheel adjustment isn't part of 'Comfort Access'.  It was standard on my X6, as it was on my Sport X5.

On lookout for 3.0sd 7 seat sport

Post by Shez1878 » Sun Aug 31, 2014 5:26 pm

Sorry mate, been out past couple of days. It's a BMW X5 3.0 sd 2008 with full service history 70% BMW, 30% NCB Autokraft. 7 seater.

Covered 102k, 2 previous owners (same family), older gent and then his daughter. In excellent condition throughout. Alloys could do with a refurb.

Space grey with black interior. The aluminium has some minor scratches on it. There when I bought it, I look after my car far too much to let that happen!

It was the one thing I needed to fix but never got around to it :(

Heated seats, upgraded sound system, SAT/NAV, parking sensors and reversing camera.

Just a really nice X5. DPF light is on currently which I will get sorted prior to selling. I will either get the DPF cleaned or have it removed depending on what the new owner wants.

£18,500 is the asking price.

Let me know if you want to take a look.

Cheers.

(Oh and the seats and steering wheel are electric so the wheel does rise up when switching the engine off. Easier to get in and out).

Needs to be a 'fix' as removing them not only fails the MOT but makes the car illegal on the road as it's no longer type approved for use.  If you sell the car with no DPF, you now commit an offence too.

Some are getting away with it, but there are some finding the car gets seized if VOSA catch them.  They've been running spot checks around here recently.  Perhaps Luton is a 'hotspot' for it?

If you remove it make sure you're covered somehow....... ;)

I will do whatever prospective buyer wants. Been told a clean will fix it so will look at that. Surprised about what you said though, been told by two reputable garages that MOTs will not be affected and it's the best solution to the problem. Better performance and one less expensive bill to worry about!

MOT rules changed from February this year.  Section 7.1.3 applies.  Failure automatic if a DPF is missing from a vehicle originally fitted with one on compression ignition engines.  Same rules apply for spark ignition engines except certain gas powered types.

Taking a CAT/DPF off also contravenes the type certification as it requires the presence of either or both on road vehicles made after a certain date so it is an offence to drive a vehicle that has been modified this way, as it will no longer meet the emissions standards the car achieved when it was approved for sale in the UK, and that means you can't sell it for use on the road either.

Any pics

DPF on would be a slight concern unless knowing reason?

Be interesting to hear on dpf update

Yes mate. Been told it needs cleaning so will book it in at some point next week.

Don't think it's a major issue. Took it to Reading today. Absolutely beautiful on the motorway and returned 34MPG :)
