One of those days that make up for it all...

Post by Steamyrotter » Tue Aug 26, 2014 1:27 pm

There I was at the traffic lights in the left hand lane.
3 adults and a wee one in the car..
Ahead of me was the road merging into one directly after the junction..

Looks in the mirror and spots a porsche 911 passing cars behind to come up beside me.

Lights still on red and rodney (the plonker) is giving it all the revs and nosing forward.

My left hand goes down, selects "S" and the wife says..
"you aint got a hope in hell"
I just grin and said Im still going to try...

Left foot on brake, Revs to 2000 rpm (now you know why my box and front prop went previously!!)

Lights change...
Foot off brake and floored it

Then immediately followed by the Wife and Daughter laughing their heads off
.
.
..

cuz rodney couldn't keep up........

:)) :)) :)) :))

By the look on his face he was fuming.
Getting left behind by a standard 3.0d

Even better than that was he couldn't pass me for the next 10 miles as there were no chances and no where togo...
Eventually he pulled off the road but the look on his face was priceless.
>:D

Thats what i thought...
But he was giving it the "im going to leave you behind" revs at the lights.. so he was going for it,

Probably a case of deminishing talent...

the X does launch pretty impressively from a standing start, and a darn site better than his....

If he goes too fast it gets dirty and then makes his parquet floored garage look messy..... O:-)
