I've only seen standard 4.4i twin round or 4.6 4.8is letter box styles that's why I put up the post asking

Maybe something like this Image

Personally I prefer a standard look or a spec upgrade look using OE parts.

Looking  at the chrome surrounds and your posts I am guessing yours is a facelift 4.4i SE. Yet it has wide arch kit typically used with 20 inch wheels and i.s. exhaust tips.

Personally I would sell the arches and return the trims to standard quad exit or upgrade rims to 20's and get black gloss window surrounds.

Don't get me wrong I see you want to do stuff to your car but personally if I had spare money laying around and wanted better looks I would simply sell and by a sport exclusive model or a 4.8is.

If you create a car of confused identity you may struggle to sell as easily later unless you revert to original spec or price accordingly - which would seem financially unwise in light of you having then already spent on mods.

Those who know nothing re these cars won't appreciate what you have done. Those that do know re these cars will see it as a car trying to be something it is not.

Of course if it makes you happy, you have spare funds & haven't got anything more pressing to spend it on car or otherwise then go for it.

Personally from a pure aesthetic viewpoint considering OE tips I think the oval covers as pictured are the nicest looking items albeit if wouldn't have them on my 4.4i as I know they belong on 4.6is or 4.8is only.

I didn't see the point in getting a 4.6 or 4.8

When I'm going to fit a m5 lump and hi spec calipers

And as I do have the spare funds to toss at the car I'm happy to splash out for a full STAINLESS system

And it has a full 4.6is exhaust not just the tips

And yes it has factory fit arches not the cheap glass fiber one and is rear bumper

Everything that's been added to the car is OE and could have been ordered at point of sale

The wheels are on order and having 10j fronts and 11j rears

So need the arches as I will need bigger tyres for more grip

And as I don't give a flying flick about resale as I build for me not someone else

When I pull into a car park I want to know its my car I'm walking to not one of 15 standard ones

And as BMW give you the opp to add extras to your car I guess they tend to agree that not everyone wants or should I say can afford to spec up there pride and joy

How about Side pipes or bring them out through the wings or....

I'll get me coat..
If things were meant to be easy, then I will soon complicate them....
Please note...
Anything I say is only from my personal experience and knowledge..
I don't assume to know everything, and know there is a lot I don't know..
But then I could be talking bollox.. O:-)

now fitting an m5 lump is something i have got to see so do this first, it would have to be the e60 m5 lump to be worth doing tho as the e39 lump will barely have any more power than a 4.8is, as for pipes i prefer the ones you have on but twin round pipes look as good i think raj has a twin round on each side
