Took my X3 for its MOT and unfortunately it failed.
Both rear springs are broken.

Re: Failed MOT
An easy fix, but it's interesting because our 3 series regularly breaks its rear springs too. Had both done twice in 9 years (51k miles) now. Never had a broken spring on any other car. Doesn't say a lot for BMW's selected steel!!

Re: Failed MOT
Had a front left on an E34 snap a long time ago.
MOT garage missed it.
I wouldn't have known if i hadn't had to change the trackrod ends.

If things were meant to be easy, then I will soon complicate them....

Re: Failed MOT
All fixed.
Phoned the dealer who sold me the car last year and they fitted a pair of Sachs springs free of charge ;D
I do have a warranty they sold me with the car but wasn't sure if springs were a consumable (wear and tear item)...anyway all done and MOT'd.
