The 4x4 light is easy to sort. That one is a normal warning when the battery is dissed.
Start the engine and moving slowly (just creeping is all you need as it saves loading the steering) forward move the steering from lock to lock.
Have you tried loading an earlier version of the OS firmware? Sometimes that works on apparently 'bricked' nav computers.

Re: Sat Nav has totally disappeared from menu :(
Thanks Richard
I've also tried leaving the original maps DVD in for the past few days but that hasn't done anything.
How can I get hold of a copy of the old software? And is this easy to load?
Cheers

Re: Sat Nav has totally disappeared from menu :(
Just to update (sorry for delay!)
After having had my mkIV dvd unit checked by two separate places, both returning it with a full bill of health, I came across this guy... Baris at http://www.carphonics.co.uk/. He's based in Enfield, so a short drive from Jn 25 of the M25.
The great thing with Carphonics is they have the full kit to benchtest the whole system and find the culprit. My problem was the TV tuner. Guess the whole lot (HU, dvd drive, BM54, tv unit etc) are all interlinked, so the TV tuner was causing the simplified menu sans navigation. Bought a replacement upgraded tuner from Carphonics and happy days again.
I found Baris very professional and careful when removing and refitting
If you are experiencing any sat nav problems, do not hesitate to contact him, info@carphonics.co.uk or 07958 499151
HTH someone get theirs back to tickety boo

Re: Sat Nav has totally disappeared from menu :(
If you have TV and nav in the car, the video is controlled by the nav. If you unplug the nav, then video switches to being controlled by the TV module. It is the TV module that displays the all blue screen, and the menu will not show the nav option. Therefore either the nav or its power supply has failed / is unplugged.
