For me, only real M cars get to wear M badges. However the old ones wear front badges the best.

Tbh...
Get rid of the badge, does nothing for the car. Sorry.

Re: m sport grill badge
I happen to think cars look better without badges, but then I don't wear monogrammed shirts
I've had 4 "Msport"s and on the first 3 I had them completely debadged externally, not because I didnt think they deserved the badge but because I thought they looked better without them: more clean metal less clutter. The one other car that I've owned I ordered debadged too for the same reason.
On my current car I had (i thought) all the badges removed but when it was delivered they had left the little "M"s on the sides (just behind the front wheels). I've left them on through inertia more than anything else.
Ultimately, its your car so do what you like.... hey, how about a great big spoiler on the back? ::)

Re: m sport grill badge
I may be biased as I always de badge my cars but any non M BMW. With the M badges just doesn't look right, aftermarket tat. Not meant to come across as rude, just my first thoughts when I see such cars. As said before, those that know their BMWs will know a true M car regardless of badges.

no, no, no and no
putting an M badge in a non-M car is totally wrong.
I don't get it...
Is it so the neighbors think you have a better car than it actually is?
Is it because you always dreamed of having an M but don't?
You could say it looks good but why not put an RS or S-Line badge on
