Re: New Member
They are a good looking set of wheels, but a real pain to clean. Then again that could just be me with my lazy attitude towards hard work.

Re: New 2 bmw
I'm no detailer but the members on here have talked about cleaning em and then some sort of alloy polish/wax which helps with future cleaning??? Might be worth investigating (especially after the first wash)! )

Thanks for the info Sanj, I'll have a search see if I can find out what it is they recommended. I think any help to make it easier is always a god send.

Hello and welcome - clean looking car.
There are a variety of wheel waxes/sealants on the market. Whatever you do - do not use acidic based cleaners that promise to add "wonder" to your "wheels"
Dedicated products exist a plenty - I won't cut and paste info from elsewhere but fwiw and IMO a decent wax will do the job. Yours have polished edges but most alloys aren't polished and are usually merely painted so same as a painted car other than heat coping abilities. I have used auto Glynn srp before as well as collinite 915 wax.

Cheers AW8, yes it's not too bad, but not as good as I'd like it to be.
Don't worry I won't be using that, wouldn't use that on my daughter's bike never mind my alloys.
The one I usually got great results with on my old E70 X5 3.0ltr D M Sport was WOLF'S CHEMICALS DECON GEL (DEIRONIZER), so I'll prob keep using that. But any recommendations on waxes/sealants would be appreciated.

Re: New Member
Welcome....Very nice looking car you have. Is it new? as the bit where the running boards go looks different to my pre facelift car. Or is that some subtle body kit of some type? as I see the bootlip spoiler also.. Sorry if that is a dumb question :-[
Re: New Member
Thanks Mavster, unfortunately no its not new - 2 years old.
Yes it is a body kit along with bootlip spoiler - factory fitted by BMW - it was an optional extra allong with the 21" performance 375 y-spoke alloys. I think the sales man told me it was an additional £6,500 for them both, so I have scored there.
Never a dumb question
