Few more specifics? Where and what sort of accommodation? Cairo I would recommend Marriot omar Khayyam. Never bothered with sharm always went to sinai peninsula and stayed at basata, however this will be dependant on what your looking for.

It's got to be well known holiday area (I no Cairo is) the wife won't venture into town etc we go away and do sweet fa really a bit of snorkelling and sunbathe etc.We can only go in the beginning of December for 2 weeks I'm fed up with long haul flights done mexico numerous times Cuba etc so 5-6 hrs to Egypt is pretty good really.
