F15 known camera fault

Post by Dr C » Tue Aug 05, 2014 1:07 pm

I've spoken about this on the "Camera issue" thread, but thought I'd start a new thread so more people could see it.

My motor is in the dealership just now getting an intermittent fault with exterior cameras checked out (see my pics on the other thread). They've just called to say they have heard from BMW, who say there is a known fault with the video module, and they're currently doing a software update to fix it. There is a guy on the E70 forum having similar issues, but I'm not sure if it is just F15-specific.

Anyway, one for all fellow F15 owners to be aware of.

Cheers
Scott

I love the fact that the stealers FIRST response was "we cant find anything wrong, please come and collect your car", despite you supplying pics of the fault.

It'll be allright in the end. If it isn't allright it isn't the end

Yeah...I told them I didn't want it back until they has a fix, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt this time but if it happens again I'll be after a full system replacement. The master tech said there was no leak or water ingress into the camera housings and doubted pressure washing would cause the issue.

Anyway, just glad to be handing the 318d courtesy car back for my X5  :) :) :)
