dpf question

Post by TimX5 » Thu Jul 31, 2014 6:13 pm

Went to purchase some oil today and I was asked if my 06 3.0d had a dpf fitted as on there computer system shows a listing for dpf and non dpf models ,, I didn't think the e53 3.0d had a dpf fitted can anyone confirm this ,  just need the correct spec oil.

Cheers Tim

E53 was only ever Euro 3 approved hence the exhausts pointing downwards.  No DPF as standard.

E70 & 71 are Euro 4 or 5 depending upon build year.  I think the pre-2010 versions were EU4 and the LCI/8speed are EU5 and both have DPFs as a result.  F15s are EU6 and therefore need Adblue.

You can have a DPF equipped version of the E53 though.  It was offered by BMW as an alternative if the CAT went.
