is it possible
is it possible
on a 2004 E53 3.0 D to switch off the interior boot light when the tailgate is open, without pulling a fuse out? Is there a switch somewhere?

Re: is it possible
When i need to leave the boot open i tend to flip the catch with a screwdriver which turns em off
you need to remember to 'open' the boot before closing though

If things were meant to be easy, then I will soon complicate them....

Does it not turn itself off after a few mins? ISTR mine did, and the X6 does too. You may want it to happen quicker though.

Re: is it possible
Mine did once... but it was due to battery flattening.....!
Not sure if there is a setting for it.
Will have to have a nose.

Re: is it possible
no it stays on - hence me wanting to switch it off as it just drains the battery if you're doing a job where the tailgate is open for a while

Re: is it possible
Change the filament bulbs for LED's, much less drain on the battery & looks nicer at night!
Re: is it possible
Perhaps. But the point of the post is that I don't actually want them on ......

Re: is it possible
If the car goes to sleep then they should go out, but otherwise you'll have to fit a switch or fool the existing switch into believing the hatch is shut.

Neither do I , might have to fit a switch.

When I leave the boot lid up with the catch flicked over , our las has a habit of trying to slam it shut :chop:
