Does anyone else suffer with this?
My washer jet spray just reaches above the wipers in the park position, so as soon as they move they are wiping a dry screen, the passenger side is particularly bad.
Any ideas how to fix this?
I've looked at the washer bottle and it seems a right pain to get to/work on so I left it alone lol.
Is there a small filter I can see above it? I will try cleaning that out if it is, also how do I get to the pump to clean that?
Cheers

Re: Poor washer jets
There are filters for each of the pumps and they could be blocking up. For some reason the X5 seems to suffer from bacterial growth if either different types of concentrate are mixed, or a non-OEM type is used that does not have inhibitors in it. My X5 used to get a white 'goo' in the tank if I used anything other than BMW screen wash concentrate.
Have a search on this site for washer pumps and how to get at them - I think there are 3 if you have headlight washers too. It's a commonish issue.

Re: Poor washer jets
Our washer jets are also very poor, can you get to them filters?
Re: Poor washer jets
Thanks, I will look into it and try cleaning the filters.
The headlights and rear washers seem fine, just the windscreen washer jets that are the worst.

Re: Poor washer jets
Not sure how easy its going to be to get to the washer reservoir as on the E70 its behind the offside wing. E53 was much easier
Re: Poor washer jets
Not the most convenient place but if it's anything like the 1-Series then it's front wheel off, wheel arch inner cover off and then lots of prising and swearing...
But can be done!

Re: Poor washer jets
E70 is an odd one to do. You have to remove the wing trim panels covers, then the wheel arch trim, and then remove the washer bottle.
Also need to remove wing indicator repeater and detach the bottle filling hose from the engine bay first.
This might be of use from the E70 manual.
As Sanj said, a right royal PITA.

Re: Poor washer jets
My washers only just hit over the wiper when stationary.
But it's just at my eye level, so it works out well.
Getting the bottle out is a right PITA. Had to do it on my one series. Hint: Make sure you have all the correct screwdriver bits BEFORE taking the wheel off.
