In the last couple of weeks I noticed the air con was not great on the drivers side.
Now the really hot weather is here it's very noticeable.
The air con is working perfectly on the passenger side - front and rear - but on the drivers side front and rear the temperature is cool, but nowhere near as cold as the passenger side.
Any ideas folks?
Also, my horn has just stopped working rather randomly.
Any help/advice appreciated.
Thanks.

Re: Air-Con only working properly on passenger side of car...
The aircon is 100% your refrigerant level, have it topped up and all will be well!! its a bizarre trait!! ive had it on both an e46 M3 and my current X5. Have the level topped up ( i bought a can from halfrauds and did it myself, really easy!! both times worked a treat and cold air now out of both vents

Thanks for the reply.
I'll give re-gassing a whirl. Read something on another forum and it solved the same problem.
Also, can't find anything in my service history that tells me that it has already been regassed - so it's probably due.

Re: Air-Con only working properly on passenger side of car...
Yes it will no doubt be this. My M3 did it and so did my current X5. M3 passengers was really cold and X5 it was the opposite if I remember correctly. Top up sorted both

Re: Air-Con only working properly on passenger side of car...
Once again this forum and its members save me hundreds of pounds. Love it!
I took my X5 to my trusted independent Germantech with the air con problem (good on passenger side poor on driver's side).
They suggested a re-gas too but said lets stick it on the computer anyway.
It showed up an error with an electronically controlled flap or something.
(that's the bit that would require a BMW garage to strip down the dash, replace the part, rebuild, probably with squeaks and rattles afterwards and charge me a fortune to boot).
I then mentioned what I'd read on this forum and that re-gassing should fix it and that it wasn't a problem with the control flap thing inside the dash.
They tested the gas level and it was low but not super-low.
They re-gassed and it immediately fixed the problem!
£60.
Job done, thanks all and kjb1 in particular!
