Pressure washing the engine bay?
Hi Guys
Been meaning to do this for ages but, too S*** scared. Has anyone pressured washed their engine bay?
Was everything ok.......etc

I steamed cleaned the Volvo engine and bodywork, would nt want to risk the jet wash though.
The nooks and crannies on the body came up great with the steamer.

Make sure you protect all the electronics etc. Probably not so bad at low pressure but I would not risk a full pressure blast at close range.

i do it; have done it many times with no probs.. 3.0d so no high voltage spark plugs etc. i don't go directly on the electronics especially the HIDs..

Used to do it on a 320i & 525i.
Used to keep them running when I did it so I knew when to stop!!!!
Haven't done it with the X though.
Let face it the amount of times I have worked on it all the dirt has been removed with my hands, clothes, sweat and swearing....

If things were meant to be easy, then I will soon complicate them....

Ive steam cleaned alsorts of different engines over the years , trucks cars plant machinery all old and new never had any problems (YET )with eletrics other than drying the spark plug leads on the petrol engines .
