Was just going through the boot compartments and have found a brand new Intravee With an brand new Alpine Interface!!!! Where do I plug these in to? is it into back of head unit or in ICE compartment in left side of the Boot?

What is the current audio setup? All OEM with SatNav screen?

Ha Ha yes you'd think it would be wired up but no it was stuffed in behind a panel!!! Hi Sanj car is totally standard OEM sat nav screen (which does not work as disc is scratched) so just want to know where it needs to go! not bothered about loosing CD Changer as have Spotify on my iphone 5 and that is all the music in the world!! really want to upgrade the speakers but have been advised that unless I want to change the full system inc amp and speakers this is a waste of time? Anyone else tried anything?

So Spotify is on your iPhone and will not go to the car unless you have an aux cable? Is that how you use it currently?

The Intravee will have two connectors that are 3-pin and 6-pin. They come from the changer and go to the IV. So the changer is then redundant.

Upgrading speakers is fine but ideal to have the RCM upgraded too - Baris is someone made reference to on this site that can take the stock RCM module and upgrade the chips to give you a better amp and then also add A2DP for bluetooth streaming of your iPhone Spotify tunes.

So, if the IV is not required in your ideal setup, sell it, use the money to upgrade the RCM. Then when you want, upgrade the front speakers in the door to components (check what setup you have right now - just 6 speakers or 10 or DSP).

yes that's exactly how I use it so it will work perfectly if I use the alpine 420i and the intravee which is great.
now the next thing is the amount of speakers. According to the chassis build sheet it has "HIFI System Professional DSP" which should be 10 but I only count 2 x Tweeters and 2 x Drivers in Front doors, 2 x speakers in each rear door which is 8 in total. For the life of me I cannot find the Sub but I'm wondering if that has been removed to make way for the LPG system of which the tank is in the spare wheel well?? When you open the tailgate there is a vacant compartment on the right hand side Where I have seen a custom built enclosure placed ( I think by yourself Sanj) so Im a bit confused!!!

So DSP is 10 plus the sub. The two you are missing are in the dash outer most corners. The sub is a replacement for the original. So the OEM sub has been removed to make way for x555's home made MDF version. Does it work?

As for the IV - no it won't work with an iPhone5 unless you can get a connector convert to this new one.

DSP 'should' be good enough though. Having said that, not sure how good you want your system to be and if the stock DSP is not of sufficient quality.

I think the OEM Sub has been removed as I cannot find it anywhere, if X555 has replaced OEM 1 then mine is defo missing in action! the system isn't too bad, I can live with it but it does miss the sub so I will need to track 1 down!!

No you're missing the point - x555 was a previous member on this forum and made these.

He wouldn't have removed your original DSP sub - if you have one of x555 custom enclosures, I have to wonder why someone (who owned your car) decided to replace an original sub for one of these. And then there is your comment about no sub - this is the sub.

Am I on the right wave-length here?

You have no sub at all after reading this whole thread again and you need an OEM one or the even rarer x555 ones. Go OEM, it's plug and play.

Then look to upgrade things after you've heard the sound - plug an older iPod into the IV with the older style connectors so you get a feel for what you have. Then look to upgrade after that...

I must be getting old as I don't know what an intervee is  ) my cars only got the CD player in the front ... At least I've got in iPhone but that doesn't help me in the car!

Sorry Sanj I didn't word it very well!! I was comparing the position that X555 used to put his enclosure that's all. I have a space where it should be and you are spot on 2 on the dash and 4 in each door (speakers)
thanks for the link I will try and get that as it really needs some bottom end to make it better!! Ive got an old ipod that I will leave in the car so just need to get the Intravee put in this weekend!!
