Must clarify my prior ref to rubbing was only for the raised aspect........to flkatten whole area would make it stand out.

That really is negligible & you might even find using black shoe polish will improve matters in interim.

I'd try just gentle rubbing with your finger nail to take off the high spot and hopefully push it into the dip, should smooth it and hide the lighter colour of the stressed plastic, I think you can get it repaired from the dentmaster types of places but not sure how good they are.

They do some textrured paint for exactly this type of thing -KwikFit of all places have it. My local one closed down otherwise I'd get a name for you. But AW8's suggestion of shoe polish is probably the best to remove the light bits that make it so visible.

Or if you have a body repair specialist nearby, ask their advice? I want to know for myself - if I get the answers quickly, I'll post up for you.

If you click th elink on the last page you will see what is used for putting back the texture. (its the yellow can )
