Order lead times

Post by bobgolden » Sun May 11, 2014 12:51 am

Hi all,

Like AllforUs, I'm a Discovery 4 refugee !

I ordered my X5 xDrive 30d MSport mid-march and have yet to get a build date.  The dealer estimated delivery in/end June but I guess that will slip now due to the shipping schedules from Spartanburg.

My question to the wise is how long are the current lead times ?

Cheers.

Bob.

Anybody taken delivery of an F15 this year ?  I placed my order 2 months ago today and don't have a build date yet.

Thanks Worsy.

Where did you order yours ?  I went to a small franchised dealer in Wakefield so was wondering if they were lower down the food chain than the big boys such as Sytner etc. the good news is that they held my PX price until delivery but I'm still getting impatient, not least because I want to get a few miles under the belt before I go on holiday in August.

I ordered mine 23rd March from memory was was told delivery July ish.  Popped in to make a couple of amendments and was advised delivery was now schedule for mid-late august around 20th.

I am on the Isle of Man BTW which adds a day or two to delivery I guess.

Swindon. Quite a big dealer covering Bristol and Berks too. It's 150 miles away but they held my part ex for July and got a great discount.

Edited to add I ordered on the 11th March.

Thanks for the feedback.

I didn't get much of a discount but was happy with the PX price so I guess it's swings and roundabouts.

Update. We are wk 21, build is scheduled for wk25. 6 week delivery time after that. So I'm heading for last week of July, 1st week in Aug.

Still no word on my build date so I'm thinking it'll be late August. If that's the case, I may as we'll wait until early September as long as the dealer will still hold my PX price.

Well, I finally got a call from the dealer to tell me the car should have been built this week but there are delays due to shortages of the 20" wheels - even though I haven't specced these on mine. ETA at the dealer is now mid July.

I ordered mine in March, finally arrives later this month or early July. Why does it take so long?

Shortage of certain wheel types due to change of supplier and stock build up of the new type.  At a guess...

When I ordered my X5 (E53) in May 2004, lead times were 14 months!!

Wow! That was a long time. Don't feel so bad now. Seems like July is the big month for deliveries
