Parking heater remote start- Enabling

Post by BL02WAS » Wed Dec 08, 2010 8:18 pm

Hi all had a chat with a webasto service engineer based in Bristol today. Told him about my issues, said it could be a number of things and a good service would do the trick. He was kind enough to forward me a PDF file used only for dealers of webasto showing exactly how to strip down etc etc and very good explanations diagrams etc, very informative. 47 pages for the webasto thermo top x unit. If anybody wants a copy pm me your email address and I will forward it on.

Indeed there is quite a difference. What is that in the foreground of pic 1 that I don't have on my '04 diesel?

I would appreciate if you could recreate the error as this will greatly help diagnose my problem.
Ok checked my air con unit part number is 64116916646, with acording to RealOEM, same as yours not the one for cars with aux heating, which as mine works leads me to think that the diff part number only indicate coding data.

As for unplugging the valves, I got errors but not the same as the one you get (I got left/right valve error), this could be because the valves are totally not there so can't report back an error. I would think is your case the valve unit must be reporting back a failure.

I am greatful for the time and effort you have spent on this for me.

There are some BMW indies in my town. I will find time to let them look.

Thanks.

My parking heater wasnt working so ive had it replaced under warrenty

it now works when the car is running - i can hear it shutting down when i take the key out etc

it doesnt however activate setting the timer or ticking the "direct" mode on "aux heating"

sometimes the a/c unit lights up like its woking but stops after 2 seconds

any ideas?

Scanning the can for faults in the a/c section it says

"21 [033] parking heating locking valve . latent heat storage system . cut off valve"

Les is there any chance you could put up a picture with notes on what pipe you slackened and also which wires to tap onto the separate battery and relevant terminal flash??? Much appreciated if possible

Also, I could surely just slacken pipe and run webasto and just engage the webasto surely. Wouldn't hurt it I would imagine??

OK, perhaps the question that needed to be asked from the start.

The OP and mcc05 have the engine with the "fuel filter and fuel cooler" shown in Pic A

Has anyone actually got this mod working with the engine that does not have the "fuel filter and fuel cooler" as in Pic B?

The pics are for reference only. I am not suggesting this component has anything to do with the heating system what so ever.
