its all to do with the rolling radious of the tyre controlling 4x4 and gearbox i think, i had an issue on a range rover sport where the gearbox was would not change up gears, turned out it was tyre on the front been a different make, same size tyre as rest, different make and was slightly larger ...

you would proberly get away without it as i remember the wheels are still inside the standard arches the extension is more to stop all the shit spraying up the car

Not this argument again :)) my two view i always fill my van with petrol from local independent retailer as there are perks with no issues, my car i fill anywhere and everywhere, only car ive ever tried super unleaded in was my ml63 and i think it possibly did more mpg but these figures companies ...
