Thanks X5Sport, I will check the fuse tomorrow in the light, the external temp is working fine, I will report back tomorrow.

Heated mirrors
My 2017 x5 seems that the heated mirrors have stopped working both together, I understand they have a phased control ie: outside temp dependant 100/75/50/25%. Today at -2C they did not come on. What should I be looking for is it a fuse or the mirrors themselves ( strange that they both fail together ...

It may be an odd concept to you, but then suggestions on what to go for would be welcomed. After over 28 years of BMW ownership, not sure this is a future option, do I need an x5, maybe not but I did buy an x4 when they first came out, and hated it ( build was not in the same class) don’t want to m ...

I understand what you are saying, £80k is a crazy amount, but that’s what premium cars cost now. As far as keeping your cash for retirement, that would buy a lot of word searches or jigsaws, I have now been retired for Six years, and saving money for a rainy day brings you to the realisation that it ...

Assuming you were looking for a new car, with around 80k to spend what would you go for, petrol, diesel, hybrid or electric. Make and model.

E70 Winter Wheels and RFT Tyres
Sorry it’s taken so long, they were covered up in the shed, but it’s very cold and difficult to get to.
The only four digit number I can find is 2611, but I did not buy them from bmw until late 2012, I found the receipt, unless bmw are selling tyres that are a year old.

Battery
Thanks to all, the Halfords option was hard as the battery was only available on line, I would have to order it then take it back for fitting/coding. In the end I have ordered a Bosch from Kwik fit, £249 fitted and coded, I have had to have a new battery on e53 (4.4) e70 40d 3.5 years from new, now ...

How much should I pay for a 2017 30d battery fitted and coded, I thought the main dealer was high at £376. Any alternative greatly appreciated.
Thanks

recall - Exhaust gas recirculation
I had a letter yesterday (2017 3.0msport), this is the second time, I had it done in September 2020, so it was either not done or not done satisfactory. If they want the car for a day, I want a loan car. In over 25 years of BMW ownership this car has been recalled several times.
