Apparently it's a common fault according to RAC man. They tend to corrode.
My battery was showing just over 11v before we put the jumper lead across.
I'm retired now so the vehicle tends to sit on the drive a lot nowadays.

All sorted. Faulty engine earth strap. Now at my Indy getting replaced. To test put a jump lead between the engine and the negative jumper terminal on the chassis. Update: Fitted the replacement module but still had the same codes showing. Put the old module back in and had an auto electrician look at it. He found the problem in about 15 mins. It was a loose connector that looked as if it was going to the centre speaker in the top middle of the dash ...

Thanks for the help. I had read that second hand with the same part number was pot luck. Some have said they worked without coding and others have said they had to get it coded. I have the latest versions of inpa+/d & p but would need to research how to do it. I have only ever used it for bleeding ...

Got the car back yesterday at 3pm all sorted. £495 total cost. . The pulley was £275 and the belt £35. It probably shouldn't make a difference but it seems to run a lot smoother now.

No Idea, I've had it 3 years and the only recall i've had was drive shaft related I think.
