Ive got this issue on mine, 52 plate 3.0D sport, mine is much worse than yours, ive got bubbling paint on the lower edge of the tailgate now, looks terrible.

I'd be interested to see what BMW say about it, let us know how you get on with them.

I removed my changer today, unplugged it then re-plugged it, working fine so far, but I expect it will revert back to original problem, thanks for the advice 

I have this issue in my X, was it easy enough to get the top off the changer to get access?

I went to my local BMW dealer yesterday to buy a crankcase breather kit/thing, I was given what I believe to be the "old" style thing with toilet roll type filter etc, I do hope I havnt been ripped off...... :'(

This is quite topical for me, ive got a "52" plate 3.0d sport, bought it 3 years ago with 78k on the clock, now approaching 114k, thought long and hard about whether to change it, thing is the value of it now is shocking, so I think im going to just keep her and do whatever needs doing to keep her ...

Lads, I know this topic is well covered elsewhere, I have now suffered the same fate, my front passenger door wont open from inside or outside. My question is about parts, what do I need, is it the bit that's inside the door? does the exterior handle normally get changed when this prob happens ...

The guy said the parts and labour was at the discounted rate, but no I didn't quote him the £159 thing, prob should've, but having the wife and screaming young ones in the car with me was making my time in there quite quick! hahaha!  ::)

Very topical for me lads, I was into my local BMW dealer today to ask about servicing costs. I have an 02 3.0D Sport X5. Shes done just over 103k, the oil service light is on, along with the brake fluid change symbol thingie. So I asked the nice man in the service reception to give me a price for ...

Thanks for the replies Lads, ive priced the bits up from eurocarparts, around 250 for a caliper and 2 discs and set of pads, 20 odd quid to get back for the exchange caliper, not too bad, but I will investigate the others mentioned, thanks again :thumbup:

quick update lads, i reconnected the battery this morning, everything is ok and working again, so i took it to the nearest indy dealer in swansea, who said somehow it had last a signal but disconnecting/reconnecting the battery would have fixed it so reasonably happy, but now gonna carry tools ...

again, your not joking, spent the last 4 nights in the hyatt, very nice indeed!!
