Re: Tyre pressur monitoring
My old Touareg used to show the pressures for each tyre. Was quite handy.

You can get iphone emails / SMS on an E70. It is a bit fiddly! I posted some instructions on here a while back on hoe to do it. Mine is a 2011 E70.

Re: Stone chips on sills & rear arch extensions
I thought they would have addressed this too! When it happened on my E70 M Sport they re sprayed it under warranty and then applied the protective film. Mine was a July 11 build and I think by the end of that year the film was being applied to all new cars

Re: a few questions for those in the know
Auto boot will close with the key fob without any mods - mine does - but you do have to hold it down for a while before it starts and keeping holding it until it closes. Pretty sure the button on the centre console only opens it. I'm sure I've tried holding it down before and had to resort to the ...

Re: BMW Thefts Without Keys
I just saw an article in the Daily Mail saying that X5's were amongst the top targets for theft in London by exploiting the security systems.
Does anyone know if the security fix BMW applied 2 years ago, has now been exploited or are they just trotting out old news?

Re: 20" wheels replaced under warranty
I've been waiting about a month now, this will be my 4th set on a car that's done 21k! Interesting that they are now a new design, hopefully this will prove more durable.

Re: How do we solve the enigma of the England football team??
I think there is a real issue with the loan system. I think a club should only be allowed to loan out a small number of players e.g less than 5. The big clubs are buying up young English talent and then loaning them back out, often to the lower leagues. They rarely ever seem to break through. Good ...

Re: (Soon to be) New owner
Hi, great spec car. Ruby Black should look fantastic too.
I'd check the wheels for the lacquer issue - flaking around the BMW badge in the centre. I've had 3 sets of new wheels due to this!

Re: Powered Boot Slamming
I wouldn't say mine slams but it's not like a soft close either. Seems to maintain a constant speed throughout and slower than if I did it manually.

On my E70, two of my favs are Aux heating and dynamic cruise control. Is the latter part of the Driving Assistance Plus package?

Re: BMW Insured Warranty
Yes, that was a no excess quote. If I decide to extend the finance for another couple of years with the comp cover with £250 excess the payments will be the same as they are now. I suspect that's what I'll go with. Had a look around the BMW show room at the weekend and still not loving the F15 and ...

Re: BMW Insured Warranty
Just got a quote the other day for my 2011 X5 40d M Sport and was quoted £1,300 for comprehensive! Still deciding whether to keep it when the 3 year finance is up so didn't take it further but sounds like the £250 excess is the way forward if I do.

Might be worth a quick call to Terry at Elms Cambridge. I and others have had good experiences.
