E53 alloys and wheels. Winter set up.
Four type 58 BMW alloy wheels and tyres for sale. Need the space in garage, only used by us for one winter. Wheels are in great condition. Tyres have about 4mm on them and are Michelin MXV4, they also have some kerb rub on them, but like I said wheels are mint. Live in Aberdeenshire. Easy to deal ...

Squeeky suspension!!!!!
Hi All, Our X5 has developed a Squeeky suspension on the rear passenger side, more of a dry Squeek than anything else. Car runs fine and you can't hear it from inside the car, but it is very noticeable from outside. Is there any thing there that requires some love and attention or is this the start ...

Redex diesel cleaner
Hi All,
Anyone used Redex in there diesel tank and are there any benefits or pitfalls to using it. My Neighbor has recently sold his X5 and swore by the stuff. I have a 55 plate X5 Sport 3d with 84,000 on the clock. Any replys welcome.
Many Thanks

Re: Webasto Thermo Top Z
Marlin, Thanks again, No we haven't had bother taxing our car. But our last car an Audi A4 would receive parking tickets and speeding fines from the Bradford and Leeds area. After a couple of visits from the police it turned out that they had cloned our car, bit silly really as our plate sticks out ...

Re: Webasto Thermo Top Z
Thanks Marlin, I knew the car had the unit fitted but I thought that it had to be activated first for it to work? If it comes on during cold spells, should I be able to set it to come on in the morning if it is forecast for cold weather?
Cheers

Webasto Thermo Top Z
Hi All, While under the bonnet changing a bulb, I could hear a sound like a vibrating mobile phone. It seems to be coming from the unit marked Thermo Top Z, and the hoses leaving this unit seem to pulse in time with the noise???? Everything in car seems to be fine and no lights or warnings are on ...

Re: Boot won't close
Just had two weeks of getting mucked about from our local garage and also from Warranty Direct forgetting to call us to tell us they are not covering it. Turns out it is the micro switch that is playing up, got a quote of £400 from local garage to fix boot along with the passenger door handle ( only ...

Re: Boot won't close
Thanks X15. I thought that too. But latch is moving freely, put a little bit of wd40 on it and it seems to be moving fine. When I lock the car there is no noise coming from the boot to lock it at all, fuses seem to be fine aswell. Sounds like a garage job.

Reg Plate Light
Hi All, Went to change the bulb for the reg plate light in the boot lid and found that one of the wires next to the bulb on the passenger side had corroded and come loose. Can this be fixed or do you have to replace the whole back section where the lights are attached?? Also the parking light/ side ...

Re: Drivers door handle
A huge thanks to Sanj and this forum, purchased the replacement drivers door handle carrier from the stealers in Aberdeen for £75.00. Started the job at about 1pm today and followed Sanj's post which included photos and a step by step guide. The job is quite tricky but if you follow the guide there ...
