Re: Laser eye UPDATE !!
I had multi-focal lens replacement done back in 2014 and am very pleased with the result in that I now have very good distance vision and I also don't need reading glasses. Cost (I had it done in Canada) was 5000 Canadian dollars which at the time was about 3500 GB Pounds. (I also know someone who ...

Re: Heated front seat
If memory of my previous X5 (E53) serves me correctly the back of the switch module only has one large connector which serves all the switches on the module (PDC, HDC, heated seats etc) so it is very difficulty to 'change switches over' as suggested. You can check the connector under the seats ...

Re: Rear Wiper Arm
Just a reminder of a previous post for E53 owners: rear wiper blade not wiping along its whole length can be improved by a few drops of easing oil at the pivot point at the drive end of the blade near the hub. It helps because friction in that pivot frustrates the spring from pulling the blade as ...

Re: Sat Nav Updated today at the dealer
I agree - good result. I did this about a year ago when BMW in Canada were charging $200 plus labour (!), but had it been available for this price I'd probably have done what you did. I did it myself via a non-BMW route - don't ask.

Re: My 2010 35d is poorly...
Thanks for the note. Problem is I'm working in Austria and the car is in Canada so it's not been possible for me to interrogate the dealer to the extent I'd have liked. It's possible the job is more difficult on an e70 I guess. I've not had too many problems with them to be honest but I'll bear this ...

Re: Help! Transmission Fault, gear won't engage
Wow! £3600 for something they aren't sure will fix the issue is brutal. I feel now that I was pretty lucky that it turned out to be a relatively simple fix for mine. I hope the 3rd party warranty people come up with something less costly for you. I'd certainly mention my experience to them just in ...
