Has anyone had their vehicle coded to enable the mirrors to fold from the key fob? If so how much did it cost? I know you can buy code readers but I am the type of person who would mess it up. I have a 2019 BMW X2M.

I would change the oil before doing anything major. It's surprising how many gearbox issues can be solved by simply changing the oil.

Someone who looks like that is virtually unemployable so you have to wonder how he can afford to own a BMW.

What a great idea. Hadn't heard of split boots before. Certainly worth a try assuming the cv joints are OK.

The best way to check for a worn CV joint is to drive the car to an empty car park and drive it on full lock both ways. If it's worn you will get loads of clicking. If the joint is OK just change the boot and re grease.

Don't buy it yourself. Get a local mobile tyre fitter to do it for you. I telephoned Puncturesafe to get the name of a local fitter. I would ring around some auto locksmiths. I heard the other day that there are people around who will do the job for around £90.

Could be a head gasket problem causing water to leak into the engine. That could be the source of the white smoke as well as the loss of coolant.
