Tyre wear question
Hi guys, the outside edge of my front tyres (275/40/20) are worn badly but the rest of the tyre including the rears are 5mm across the tyre, would it be ok to change the fronts for new tyres or would I need to buy 4 and replace them all?

Re: Whistling sound?
It’s more noticeable when cold but I can still hear it when it’s warm, definitely wasn’t there 2 weeks ago as that’s when my wife was last in the car, she got in yesterday and without me asking if she could hear it she said what’s that whistling noise?

Whistling sound?
Hi I’ve had my car around 6 weeks now and all has been fine (2009 x5 35sd), had it serviced after I bought it and health check at the same time, just lately it seems to be whistling from start up, noticeable on tick over and when accelerating, I’ve no warning lights or codes when I use bimmercode and ...

Re: Engine code question
It was on my list to do in the first few months of ownership, I cant ask the garage to do it I've been a nuisance on price and insisting it gets a fresh mot as it still had 7 months left, he's also upgraded the warranty from 3 months to a year.

Re: Engine code question
As I understand it , dealers don't like cars on their pitch that don't fall into BMWs Approved Used criteria. They send them straight to auction. This garage is less than a mile from the main dealer and seems to have a few bmw 1-3 and 5 series of the same age and value which would back up the car ...

Re: Engine code question
Thanks guys, I asked the dealer to email me the VIN code and have used this to get the correct info, it is the M57 engine and looking at the options it looks a good spec model, I'm going to wait until next week when we can hopefully visit car showrooms and get a test drive.

Thanks for that probably going to wait until lockdown is over to try them out, dealers are saying they deliver but I'd rather drive a few before buying.
