What is the aim with the 205? Full restoration?
After passing my driving test in 98, my first car was a Renault 5 GT Turbo, pearlescent white, red interior. How I wish I would have kept that car and the Escort RS Turbo S1...... hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Logbook received today. Online tax £555... should have gone for an 55 plate
Anyone else paying the higher tax bracket?
I believe I am right in saying if I would have gone for a 55 plate it would have been a lot lower than my 06.
Mine is £555 year or £305 six months.

Topgear last night.... Subaru itch?
Anybody watch topgear last night?
Who started looking through the classifieds for a Subaru?
For me there are certain cars which start a trend: X5 E53 for SUVs, Subaru's for road rally performance....... which cars do you think started a trend?

Re: Select sport on a auto..... what actually or should happen?
I use the manual function when off road on slippery surfaces (mud and chalk) when out shooting or towing the horse trailer to Winter shows. The show entrances are normally through a farm gate which rapidly (well this year anyway) become a bog. Selecting 3rd to pull away with minimum throttle ...

Re: Remap
Funny you mention the hills... i was happy with the power until today when i over took a slow lorry up a hill and thought .. ok, i could just do with a bit more power.
I am not too fussed about the extra MPG but definitely interested in the power gains.
Do you have a before and after comparison ...

Re: Select sport on a auto..... what actually or should happen?
Thanks, makes sense.
I differently get a sharper throttle response and gets closer to the red line, i just was not sure if it give you more power.
Does anyone ever use manual mode? I can not take to using it

Did you have a remap? Interested in knowing the gains and whether a remap is worth it

Totally agree
He knows his stuff and I have said replace/fix anything that is a priority and other things, if it makes sense to replace whilst he is in there, do them too!

Not bought from a dealer, private deal.
After the initial panic and as pointed out my many, the issues are mainly wear and tear and nothing too alarming.
I am in it for the long run with this car.... to me for the looks, drive, comfort/space and reasonable performance for a big car, I believe you ...

After a few days of breaking things down and realising a bought an X5 for a reason... I bloody like the car!
As pointed out my many, the issues are mainly wear and tear and nothing too alarming.
The rear subframe bushes look good, turbo pulls well and overall the car is in excellent condition.
