Cheers fella's.
Thanks for the link Paul, i'll look down this avenue. I think a tailgate badge would look ok on the x5, any thoughts?
Would be handy if they sold the letters seperate like, as i dont require the full badge.

Replacement letters/numbers.
Discovered today i have lost the letter S off the front wing where the 4.8is badging is placed. Could anyone advise on where i could purchase one, and on how much it should cost. Just curious did any X5 models have rear badging placed on them to convey on which engine is under the bonnet, other than ...

Re: 4.8 EXHAUST????
I have looked over there web, and they fitted one of there exhausts to a 4.4 v8 x5 and that does sound awesome. Your 4.8 should sound even better i would imagine. any chance you could upload some sound vids after you have had the exhaust fitted? If its how i imagine it to sound i may do the same as ...

Re: 6 speed transmission query.
I appreciate the replies. Excuse my lack of knowledge, i didn't realise the 4.4 come with a 6sp box also, stupid me  Mine too defaults only to 3rd gear, and i too can pull away in 3rd gear comfortably. now i wonder why some boxes downshift to 2nd and some 3rd??? :? Thanks again for info people ...

Re: 6 speed transmission query.
Ok so i'm aware of the box changing at the red line or just before in manaul mode. i meant you change manaully to avoid such high end reving, i;e redlining through the gears. Basicly if driving in manual mode in a civilised manner you wouldn't want to take the revs right to the redline to upshift ...

6 speed transmission query.
Unsure to what is the norm. If driving in the manual mode with the 6 speed auto transmission, one has to use the shifter to go up gears manually before hitting the redline which is understandable. My query is when coming to a stop the gear box downshifts itself, to do with engine speed, revs, ok ...

Another sls inactive thread.
Having had the sls control unit replaced earlier in the year with a rear wheel speed sensor, that cured the sls inactive message appearing on the cluster, great, job done. I havent driven the X much at all of late, twice in the last month and a half. The last time being 3/4 weeks ago. I planned to ...

I have been very busy since i posted this thread, hench the delay in replying to the great feedback, thanks people. hankook vs toyo proxes.
Neading to relplace both front tyres shortly, wondering which to opt for within my budget. Good reviews on the toyo across the site i have found. But can anyone comment on the hankook tyres? the hankook's are comming in a slightly cheaper than the Toyo's. Tyres are 275/40 r20. The toyo's do seem to ...
