Re: Parking Brake Failure

A bit of an update, took my car back to the dealer and they have reset the faults through software and have driven it without being able to replicate the problem again. Should I be skeptical about this? I did read somewhere that the 2007 X5 had potential software faults with the parking brake. Thank ...

Re: Where is the cabin pollen filter on an e70 rhd model ?

I had exactly the same situation. Despite FSH, the honeycomb filter was still there. I guessed at which way the arrow went, I can't remember what way round I did it now! The honeycomb filter broke up and fell to pieces as I took it out.

93k on the clock so it could be time! Anyone know what brands of pump are good? There seems to be a big variation in price.

Re: All weather tyres for staggered setup

Thank you very much Stuart, I am over in the US on the West Coast this week, so this is a good start to the day for me :)

Will there be any negative effects of going to 255s on the rear?

All weather tyres for staggered setup

Hello all, I have a bit of a predicament and am a bit out my depth so was hoping that I could get some advice and experience from you guys. I bought a 2007 e70 recently and it came with some terrible Accelera tyres in the front and had Contisport 5 on the rear. I hate Acceleras so i decided to out ...

Any opinions of whether I should replace water pump and hoses when I am doing the thermostat?

Re: Parking Brake Failure

Thanks Leslie, not great! Dealer I bought from is going to look at it for me. He was nice and polite so far. First time I have had the level control come up, hoping that it was triggered by the parking brake issue and will not be a problem. Have driven since and it has not come up again. For parking ...

Parking Brake Failure

Had my car 2 weeks today and first issue has come up... Parked up to go for a walk and as we were getting things out the boot there was a loud screeching from the back of the car that lasted for 2- 3 seconds. Thought nothing more of it until came to drive off again and the Parking Brake Failure came ...

Re: Screen upgrades E70/71

Did you end up pulling the trigger on this? I have had one in the past in an old SLK. I was impressed with the look and feel, being able to run Spotify etc. The only downside was the audio output wasn't great. I have seen lots of forum posts where people manage to work round this though. I will be ...

Re: New owner 3.0d SE- list of DIY jobs and hello

Thank you DIY PETE, I have seen some You tube videos on that. I was at the dealer yesterday getting a recall sorted and asked them to supply the thermostat to me. Amusingly the advisor thought he would give me a quote for supply and fit, although already told him I would DIY. Main thermostat fitted ...

Re: New owner 3.0d SE- list of DIY jobs and hello

Ah ok, thank you, almost makes too much sense for BMW putting it where it should be!

Not going to be able to attempt until week after next as going away. I will let you know how it goes though.

Thank you for guidance, very kind of you.

Did you replace anything else while you had the fan out for preventative maintenance?
