Re: E53 or E70??
Well, After a lot of searching and running the numbers I have gone with an E61!!!!!! I love the X5's but right now I cant get the one I would REALLY want so anything else would be second best and I know that would grate on my mind. Quite sad I will not be an active member on here as I dont have X5 ...

Re: Who to remap ?
I can not speak from experience (yet!) but I did a massive punt around the internet to see who was highly rated and one name came up a lot - http://www.bwchiptune.co.uk/ Spoke to Jason and he seems like a really nice guy - He also directed me to this site! So I found him first then this forum! He ...
Where in the country are you? Maybe there is a member close to you who could let you have a look around an e53 of similar age etc to the type you are looking for? Re: E53 or E70??

Looking at the numbers I just don't think (after all the comments too!) I want to push it too much. 2nd year warranty, some extra toys on a E39 is prob the way to go!! I can take the family on a nice holiday with the extra cash too!
Presume you mean E53 ...

Re: E53 or E70??
Really great replies all! I agree the E53 is not at all dated. When I had an E39 I loved it, then the E60 came out and made me feel like I was driving a dated car so I had to change!! With the x5 I would love the extra seats but will struggle in my price range. Looking at the numbers I just don't ...

Re: E53 or E70??
Just checked a Nov 2007 car and that's £245. I will be pushing my budget quite a lot to get into one of these.

Re: E53 or E70??
No aep - the car emissions themselves on the early E70 diesels were higher than 225g/km. They will always cost more to tax. Any car registered after 23rd March 2006 falls into the new tax brackets. Have a look here: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/Ow ... G_10012524
Sanj ...

Re: E53 or E70??
Thanks PVR, I did notice there was a window with the 2006 E53 and 2007 E70 where the tax was high. When was this dropped to the lower tax bracket?

Re: E53 or E70??
My thinking is the last of an established model will have been proven and **should** be the best they have made. Is there a higher risk going the the very latest, first off the production line car? I have not really seen too many reported issues.
Thanks
Andrew
Thanks

E53 or E70??
Hi all, I'm after some advise! After a C*** Up with my E53 that I should have been collecting tomorrow I am left without a new car  I have had a couple of cars with iDrive and really like the functionality. REALLY want an X5 but have limited budget, the smart car for me is a 5 series Touring ...

Re: New Car New Forum !!
Your a brave man Neil! Wish I had the knowledge to do such a thing. Just got mine from a main Stealer - No doubt paid over the odds and am still slightly nervous about running a 4x4!! Seen some horror stories about cars turning into money pits - Mainly Range Rovers that said!! Good Luck with it ...
