Re: Retrofit heated seats
Does this mean removing the seat covers? If so I'd strongly recommend not doing this, you'll never get them to re-fit the same way again. I had a leather seat cover replaced on a previous BMW and it was never quite the same after and they had a number of attempts at it. [/quote ...

Re: Retrofit heated seats
It seems from here http://www.cartronics.co.uk/BMW-X5-E70-retrofit-Heated-Seats that it is indeed possible to retrofit heated seats to an E70. Does anyone know any of the details? Is it just a matter of fitting the heat pads and the replacement heating control buttons with the seat controls and ...

Re: Lots of smoke and no power
I got the car back yesterday and the dealer replaced the MAF. So far all seems much better so hopefully that's it cured.
Thanks to all for the advice.
Happy Easter
Any news?
I got the codes read and it came up with code p3264 which indicates a problem with the maf or maf sensor.
It's in the garage at the minute so hopefully it all gets sorted this week. I'll report back once I get it back.

Re: Lots of smoke and no power
I'd go with that - black and it's you manifold (x555 has done a write up on a carcked manifold - PM him, his might have been the same). Hope you don't get white (unless you have a warranty)! Or you may need a breather assemby replaced, but on such a late model, you'd hope ...

Re: Lots of smoke and no power
Thanks to everyone who replied.
It is indeed a 3.0d. I'll have a look at the info on the cracked manifold and see if that might be it.
Thanks
John

Lots of smoke and no power
Evening all, The 2006 e53 x5 with 70k miles we got a few weeks ago has been causing a few problems which the dealer has had 1 go to fix already. It's about to go back for another attempt but I want to try to get a better understanding of it all first. The first problem is an occasional loss of power ...

Newbie Alert!
Hello all, I'm new to xdrivers so thought I'd say hello. I'm a long term BMW addict but never took the plunge on an X5 yet. I came close last year but bought a 525i Touring instead. I'm now hunting for an X5 and have found a couple which are very nice but I need to get an understanding of the ...
