Re: Propshaft died
Picked up the car, with new prop. Jacked the car up when I got home and had a quick look. Looks like I have been very fortunate in a small part of the plastic under tray has broken off, potential damage could have been significant. I also gave the front wheel a good shake but couldn't detect any ...

Re: Propshaft died
Well I’ve taken a punt and ordered what is described as lower wishbone on realOEM for both sides. I’m guessing hopefully that should see me through problem after market parts are a minefield to negotiate through as someone has always had a problem no matter what you choose. I have gone down the febi ...

Re: Propshaft died
Well they still have the car, kind enough to send me a service appraisal which by the way I didn't ask for. Apparently 5.5 mm of tread on rear tyres is an amber warning on their traffic light system. However they also point out I have a worn front bottom ball joint, strangely enough can't find much ...

Propshaft died
Sitting waiting for recovery, front propshaft sheared on the UV. :( Lucky I had just pulled through a set of lights when it went. Think I have a recent recall letter on my message wall for this but if it’s not the prop maybe the drive shaft. On positive note at least it wasn’t an hour earlier on the ...

Bootlid tail lights
thought I would share this, I mentioned on another post about my tail light on the bootlid (LED one) failing and repair. In typical fashion the other side failed exactly the same, so I have added photos. IMG_0500.jpeg IMG_0501.jpeg I IMG_0504.jpeg As this was my second repair I learnt that the ...

Re: Comfort access
Just thought I would update my progress on this. After waiting for my new antenna to arrive from Latvia and tested across the 2 pins it did indeed show 4 Ohms. When fitted the tailgate was back to normal unlocking with key in pocket tailgate only, even problem with battery discharge appeared to go ...

Re: Part worn 6-7mm tread, - £50 for the 20 inch wheels
Would be safe to say if you buy a second hand car you are buying part worn, and not always the history is known about why/ when the tyres were fitted. Just saying, your choice.

Re: Comfort access
Hi, thanks for your reply, battery not more than 2 years old and I do have an intelligent charger. I work shifts so I do rack miles up but on my break if I have a lot on at home the car stays where it is for a few days. Having had a jeep grand cherokee I'm somewhat used to electrical gremlins but ...

Comfort access
So I have been persistently getting the high discharge on the battery warning but although its persistent it also remains to be intermittent. I'm aware it could be down to the amount of miles I do as when the car doesn't move I get the warning, however I have left it for several days and not had the ...

Re: New owner 3.0d SE- list of DIY jobs and hello
You may find there is no bleed screw, I had to change the coolant on the other half's 2009 E93 (3.0D) and there wasn't one. I couldn't find one on my E70 same year same engine Apparently there is supposed to be an electric pump which assists bleeding of the system but this was not the case, so I had ...
