Yet another recall campaign........

I’ve used Lloyds in Colne even though I live in Derbyshire and have used them and continue to do, since I bought the x5 in 2018, always found the service to be very good, having said that had a couple of issues, both were sorted very quickly and professionally at minimum incontinence to me.

Yet another recall campaign........

The dealership concerned didn’t happen to be Bristol Street motors or Vertu by any chance as has two similar calls after my daughters Skoda went in for routine servicing, I just avoid them at all cost now

Electric nightmare

That sounds like it could be a faulty or sticking button on the key fob, just a thought, maybe worth taking the battery out of the potentially faulty fob and trying the other fob?

Diesel claims

Possibly from one of the price comparison websites if you have ever entered your details for an insurance quote.
I would think its very unlikely BMWUK would provide that info, possibly a dealer depending on who actually manages their data.

Battery replacement

Thanks for the info and guidance.
Battery changed today and all went well, due to the inclement weather I took it to my local independent technician, a very knowledgeable young chap, who specialises in VW Audi group vehicles, but has a lot of experience with other makes from a few years with the AA ...

Battery replacement

The power of Google or duck duck go in this case, hopefully basically correct🤔🤞

It won’t, but follow the right procedure for disconnecting the batteries:
Open the door and trunk
Move the key out of the range, so it won’t wake up the vehicle
Wait till all electronics sleep ( I would say 15-20 min ...

Battery replacement

I’ll have a look and see if anything stays on when I next park it up after a run, if not I’ll leave it for 15 mins or do before starting the change, I’m sure the interior lights go off after after a while

Battery replacement

Afternoon All
The battery on my x5 f15 40d, is now six years old and I’ve had a couple of start engine battery discharge level high warnings, normally when it’s been parked for a week or two without use apart from opening and closing doors etc.
I have put the battery on charge visually the under ...

Post Your MPG Here

My f15 x5 40d has averaged 33.19 mpg over 42.5k miles since we bought it with around eighteen miles on it, (according to Fuelio), that included a good number of 2 ton caravan towing duties initially, although that has dropped in the last year, as we now store the caravan at one CV of our favourite ...

Three months in with an EV

My x5 was in for service last week and was lent an i4 for the day, my first experience of an all electric car, had a tootle around the Grassington, Hebden Bridge and Bolton Abbey area, very impressed with comfort and drivability, not so convinced about the wide screen info system to do just about ...

Good news and fingers crossed is all ok, then a nice letter of apology to the supplying dealer, if it turns out to be from an attempted scam

N57 Which Oil? Engine known for bearing failure

At least BMW cover the engine under their excellent extended warranty cover and it’s not been classed as a known manufacturing fault by the warranty companies.
Unlike the previous Land Rover 3.0 diesel engines used extensively in the Discovery and Range Rover products, where even Land Rover own ...
