Had my Recall done about 3 weeks ago and all good.

BMW Leeds were great and the car was cleaned thoroughly inside out..

Update: i brought a branded Air Mass flow sensor from GSF (was 60% off all products) and a few other service parts in the process.

Had it fitted only took 10mins to do - quite easy to be honest, and the car has no engine light on dash (cleared all error codes).

Only issue i find is the MPG is more ...

i purchased a headlight polishing kit and must say it worked a treat.

The one i purchased which came recommended on several sights was by Mothers Aluminium Polish.

2008 X5 Msport E70 model:

3FF1 Air Mass Sensor error code has popped up again and it's the Air Flow Mass Sensor so need to replace it.

Can not afford to buy OEM from the dealers so looking else where to source the part.

Euro-parts as selling them at £200+
E bay differ from £25 to £200+

Why ...

Its a 7 Seater and its only the middle row single seat that doing my head in or who ever sits on it and it makes a spring noise every bump i hit...

Just had my 2009 X5 E7 M-Sports Codes read and the following error codes came up:-

1. 4B1C Fuel Filter heating activation
2. 4B90 Rail Pressure Monitoring on engine start
3. 3FF1 Air mass Flow Sensor

Reset them and seems to have cleared for now.

However wanted to find out what caused them and if ...

HI, can anyone help me out on a annoying rear seat spring seat noise :x . the passenger side rear seat makes a noise each time the car goes over a Bump or pot hole when someone is seated on it. It sound like a Spring noise - click, clunk type noise, Its as if one spring is loose.

I just found out today that there has been a new recall for the X5 E70 as of November 2018, its been recalled for "screw connector generator" issue, words to that effect and what ever it means!, got mine booked in for the 18th February 2019, oh well better late than never!!

Right sorted it out with 2 x part worn (6+mm tread) on rears Continentals 315/35/20 110w star rated same patterns etc. and so far so good.
I kept 1 old Tyre since it was in great condition as a back-up..

I have a 58 plate X5 e70 M-Sport with the extra wider wheel arches etc..

Im looking to install running boards on the X5 because of younger kids & elderly mother.

But I'm getting conflicting advise on if its possible or not: -

I called BMW parts team and they said no Running boards / Side steps ...

Will take it on-board and steer clear of running boards for the M-sport version.

Also thanks for the tip about not mixing runflats and normal tires.. i guess these X5's are sensitive to a lot of things, not good for a tough 4x4 then.
