Re: EGR recall
BMW don't seem to have a clue. The recall got announced last July/August. By November I still hadn't heard anything, despite being 99% sure my car was affected. I called my local Sytner garage and was told categorically that my car wasn't affected. Guess what....last Thursday I get a letter through ...

Re: EGR cooler recall. Has yours been done?
Ah. Well that sounds ridiculous, so fingers crossed that doesn't happen. To be honest it took me 3 days just to book the car in due to Sytner's incompetence so I guess I shouldn't expect much with the actual work!

Re: Urgent help finding right spring for 2007 with adaptive drive
Did you look on ebay? I just searched for your first part number on there and this came up: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-BMW-X5-E70-Front-Coil-Springs-2006-2013-With-Adaptive-Drive/372436389716?fits=Car+Make%3ABMW&hash=item56b6f04f54:g:VycAAOSwowtbm75v:rk:1:pf:1&frcectupt=true I had a total failure ...

Re: EGR cooler recall. Has yours been done?
Mine is booked in for a couple of weeks time - I was told on the phone that it's a 2 hour job. Hopefully they're right with that! I didn't know there had been horror stories

Re: DS and sport button difference
It doesn't mean you have the Dynamic Pack, no.
Putting the car in Sport mode with the button also changes how the gearbox responds i.e. it will shift down and hold onto the gears longer. The sport button should also give you better throttle response, but that's about it.

Re: X1 Transfer Case Symptoms
It can be a sign of trouble yes. Checking the tyres might also give you further clues. Wide differences in tread wear and use of non ‘*’ marked tyres can all lead to trouble but it must be stressed are not guaranteed to do so. When driving then be listening for grating/grinding noises or whining whi ...

X1 Transfer Case Symptoms
Going to test drive an X1 this weekend, I've read a lot online about various BMW 4wd transfer case issues. Am I correct in that the common symptoms of this would be slight juddering/feedback when pulling away at with steering lock on? What other symptoms should I be on the look out for / what tests ...
