Changed the glow plug controller and never
Looked back. Common fault. But it may be wiring if you not so lucky.

Re: Preventative maintenance on E70
Update this morning : Ok went to see state of rear air springs this morning Measure both sides yesterday and they were roughly the same about 10cm from tyre. Today passengers side is still the same where the bag was changed. However the drivers side is about 1cm less. So the theory that car self ...

Re: Under Door lights.
They come out at the other end opposite where the bulb is. But when I put screwdriver under fitting near bulb side it won’t budge. Tried to yank it out but at the risk of ripping door card I didn’t want to test it to full strength. So under the fitting there is a 2 pin plug ? All I can see while it s ...

Re: Preventative maintenance on E70
Car has been sat since 11am this morning and no sign off air loss although I didn’t measure ride height at the time but it’s about same if not a little less. If the bag as leaking surely it would take less than a few hrs to flatten it. The leak maybe from the installation or valve block on the sol ...

Under Door lights.
Anyone know how to change these on E70. I bought some to show Bmw logo but when I try to pry them out one side (bulb) side won’t budge. Also they have bulb in and I assumed their would be a connector which I would plug into the new replacements. Anyone had a go seems you can only change bulb.. if so ...

Re: Preventative maintenance on E70
Have the Arnott bag fitted which seemed well made. Cost £157 for bag. Anyway he took old bag out and it’ was creased but no sign of leak or holes. Anyway I asked him how he changed old bag which had collapsed. He said they just bust it and air came out. So didn’t need to get air out via solenoids. So ...

Re: Preventative maintenance on E70
Come to think of it they do release at solenoid first . They do have lift for access for raising car but you have to get air out before you can get back out anyway so it must be let out at solenoid. I’m trusting their judgement but I guess if new bag leaks then I’m dealing with a bunch of clowns. Su ...

Re: Preventative maintenance on E70
Not sure the pipes at solenoid leaked as he changed bag so would have just took off pipe at bag or would he take the solenoid off as well?

Re: Preventative maintenance on E70
He told me that it must be the bag. As both sides will go down even if one bag is faulty as it adjusts itself. Both sides went up when I started car. So even if new bag it could still not work if there is a leak elsewhere. Funny thing is it was working properly before the change even though it was ...

Re: Preventative maintenance on E70
When only after12hrs the car was riding extremely low this morning on both sides. After start it rose up but it seems they put in a faulty bag. Went back and he said a faulty bag may have been installed. So I asked him to order a Arnot one for £130plus vat for £157. Gonna ask to pay diff as I’m not p ...

Re: Preventative maintenance on E70
Get an arnott bag as said not some cheap crap one which will last no time and definitely not a used one which could be 10 years old already , rubber ages ! If the bag goes the compressor runs all the time to pump the leak , its not designed to run all the time and it will wear out in a short while ...

Re: Preventative maintenance on E70
The ash levels are about 35g. I’ve bought ISTA and Foxwell 510 for dpf issues. Need to regen very few weeks as I do short trips. Have car booked for heater recall in June. Otherwise it runs ok. Having transfer case oil changed next week and having diff inspected too. Specialist said no need to c ...

Re: Preventative maintenance on E70
To be honest I just want to fix it and then see how it goes as I don’t do much miles/yr. I asked him why it went and he said they just fail sometimes so a second hand will be as good or as I may end up replacing other side soon. Not sure about springs and how they do it. But if it’s £340 for parts an ...

Re: Preventative maintenance on E70
Got Bmw specialist to look at it . He says bag has collapsed and needs new one. He said may pop anytime and will hear bang. Also said it shouldn’t affect pump or compressor but will need changing. Quoted £100 to have bag changed with used part. New ones are apparently £150? Another chap said pump on ...
