Re: X5 is gone

Hiya Jeeg, sorry to see you are leaving us, but do let us know how the opposition performs, just reached 76 and fear my scrabbling under cars is reaching an end, also doing less than 4000 miles a year, and the old forum is not what it was like 4 years ago (and last update did not help either). Any ...

Re: X5 is gone

What’s Sanj going to do with all the spare time :D He’s not been seen much recently either. I'm still about Gents! Been quiet my end too, car is still running strong, over 12 years of ownership now. Think I'll change over in a few years time - not sure to what. What with the scare stories of owning ...

Intravee, KCA-520, x555 sub box with Focal, MTX amp, towbar

Just traded in my X5, ripped a few parts off beforehand:- 1 - Intravee 2 + KCA-520i - £165 incl postage. 2. Sub Enclosure with Focal 21V2 8" subwoofer to fit in side panel in boot (where twin OEM Sub goes). Made by X555 one of the original batch (should make it a classic). Amp to power MTX Audio ...

What’s Sanj going to do with all the spare time :D He’s not been seen much recently either. He's currently reading the Lexus manual, so he is prepared when I call him :-). Dashcam is the first project. Although I should let him breath easy and tell him that is has electric folding mirrors and rev ...

X5 is gone

I know I have not been on here that much, probably due to the demise of my e53 I think I lost interest - it pretty much always worked however. So last 2-3 years the missus has been crying to change the car, her list of issues just grew longer, at the point I traded in:- Airbag Light constant on ...

BMW E53 Winter alloys and tyres

Need to clear space in shed, too lazy to changeover in winter, bought second hand and I have only used them for 1 winter myself. Although the tyres are good, they are very old so would strongly advise to get them checked out. Full details: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/323451152130 Ignore the eBay ...

Re: Simple DAB or Bluetooth Streaming options

Installed and using via FM is too flaky, when in a good spot it works perfectly but driving around its just not good enough. The Bluetooth connected to phone and playing music but the FM transmission made it crap. I'm planning on buying the AUX in adapter cable and try that out, is the copies around ...

Simple DAB or Bluetooth Streaming options

Greetings people. I’m getting old and can’t be bothered to update my iPod and the constant crap radio quality bothers me. Wondering if there any simple options to get DAB radio or Bluetooth streaming, was thinking of one of those options that go into the 12v socket but no idea if they are any good. A ...

Re: Battery kill switch
Nice and straight mounting position :)) Not sure if I could be bothered to be in the 60s every time I started the car though.
I knew I should have straightened it before taking a pic. I’ll do that when I get some Velcro. Yeah 60s not much fun but the joy of hearing the car t ...

Re: Battery kill switch
So, how does this work, you open the drivers door with the key, climb over the seat, drop the rear seat backrest and operate switch or can you just reach the rear door and open it from the inside?
You could open front door with key then reach rear handle to unlock. In my ...

Re: Battery kill switch

Yes you lose presets, better the car starts then have presets. Actually the worse thing is my head unit gone back to the 1960's menu system, anyway to get this back and keep it? Or will disconnecting the battery not allow this? Duracell battery on order. @jaynana pic for you but not very interesting ...
