If you're just after draining the coolant, just pop the lower hose off.

Found the culprit, the exhaust gas cooler convuluted pipe to the manifold had split in half, wondered why the turbo was sluggish.....

Exhaust smoke in engine bay
I've changed the EGR and main thermostats as I had a low temperature reading and on rebuild I've a exhaust gas leakage somewhere
I had the EGR cooler off and turbo pipe but wondering if I've missed one, the pipe to the turbo was suspiciously easy to get off, is it really just a push on with no clamp?

Afternoon all, picked up a 2005 X3 Sport 2.0 diesel a few days ago so popping in and saying hi
