Fearing that it might be the burst pipe or disconnected joint I've just read and watched a video about leading to a leak of fluid in to the rear foot-wells, I just went outside and checked and they're dry!
Any ideas about what to do/check next? Maybe swap the pumps around and see if it's just a ...

Re: 2002 model. No water from rear washer.
Just resurrecting this topic as I have this problem on my 2007 E53 3.0Si.
I've taken the reservoir out, cleaned it and cleaned all the filters out but I still have a poor stream of water from the rear washer jet. There is some water getting through but only after pushing and holding the stalk for ...

Re: Which pattern PDC sensors on a Facelift (LCI) E83?
Thanks Alan but I've already done that...I use realoem a lot as I own 7 BMWs (until this morning it was 8!) but it's not clear on there and also it lists the parts by generic drawings (which cannot be relied upon as accurate representations)...and also by pre-painted colours...so it's not a ...

Which pattern PDC sensors on a Facelift (LCI) E83?
I have two PDC sensors out on my newly acquired E83 3.0Si. One is a front inner and one is a rear inner.
I knew the system wasn't working when I bought the car and a local Indie (via diagnostics) has identified which ones.
I anticipated a relatively simple fix that I could do myself and for the ...

Re: New E83 3.0Si Owner
Thanks!
Yes, Sky Bear! That's already happened with us! Where we live is quite rural and normally we never see over hedge-rows. There's one nearby and I never new there was a massive solar farm on the other side of the hedges! :))
Despite initial trepidation and not really being a 'car person' my ...

Re: New E83 3.0Si Owner
Yes Graeme,
I think Z4s are pretty good buys at the moment. I used to own an E46 CSL and the Z4M (apart from lacking the same noise) is just as exciting a car to drive....and at an absolute fraction of the cost.
But I think the biggest bargains at the moment are really the 3.0Si. They are so cheap ...

Re: Driver's heated seat fault?
Thanks! That's a great tip about not closing the hatch after disconnecting the battery....I would definitely not have thought about that! :))
I think I will disconnect it when I come to do it then...just to avoid any unexpected pyrotechnics!
I'll leave doing it until the days are longer and warmer ...

Re: Transfer case fluid change
I'm considering doing this myself on my newly acquired X3 but when I watch a YouTube video on how to do this they then talk about resetting the transfer box adaptations using a scan tool...which I don't have. Is this essential?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: New E83 3.0Si Owner
I haven't driven the X3 much yet as I only got it last Friday and also it's my first experience of owning a 4WD of any description but I've owned and driven BMWs for the last 35 years. You can see some of my past cars here (if you're interested) and also in the Gallery section of the same link (It ...

Re: Driver's heated seat fault?
Thanks AW8.
I think when the weather is a little more reliably dry I'll tackle the seat myself. The trader is a looooong way from me. I do have a 6 months warranty with it but my experience with 3rd party warranties is that they always find an exclusion or way of getting out of things and are only ...

Re: Driver's heated seat fault?
I did buy it from a trader. He told me the parking sensors were dodgy but not the driver's heated seat.
(Been round the parking sensors and I reckon that at least 3 at the front are not clicking...I'll have to deal with that myself)

Re: Driver's heated seat fault?
Thanks!
A bit of an update...
I think the problem lies in the seat pad!
If switched on without me sitting on it, it comes on and stays indefinitely.
If I then, with a fist, apply pressure to the lower seat pad it goes off. You have to press in one specific place i.e. to the rear, right half of ...

Re: New E83 3.0Si Owner
Thanks Graeme
Yes, it's in pretty good nick.
A couple of early niggles that I've noticed...Parking sensors playing up and driver's heated seat keeps turning off spontaneously....but overall very happy with it so far.

Re: Soon to be E83 owner
Are we following each other around Phil?
I'm on the Z4 Forum as well ( currently have Z4 3.0Si Roadster, Z4M Roadster and Alpina Roadster S).
I've just bought an E83 too! (3.0Si)
