Re: To do list
Ooh, anodised them? Hmm, hadn't thought of that, but that could be a great idea! It'll be a while before I get to that item on my list, but I'll keep you posted...

Re: To do list
I thought my struts were ok, until I fitted the springs. Removing one strut, and the boot lid wasn't even close to supporting itself with just the one strut in place. I think it should have at least had some effort at holding. Guess my struts are on their way out. Hardly surprising, as they're 15 ...

Re: To do list

I reckon needs a stronger spring, anyone got ...

To do list
I guess most of us here have a to-do list of jobs on the X5. Here's mine. Fit new front suspension components, hopefully to eradicate the horrendous braking wobble. I have the parts, and should be done within 2 weeks. Fit new brake discs and pads, if the above doesn't work. Fit a switched power ...

I hope the positive battery lead isn't touching the bodywork, or you'll be in trouble!

Re: Bought another X5, couple of Qs!
I bought a dynavin n6 for my wife's car, an SLK. Worked ok, the screen could gave been better, but it did the job. For 3 years, before the screen failed. Now it's just a white screened, unresponsive, silent bit of plastic which has had to be removed.

MID display unit
I have an E53 which has had the stereo replaced by a previous owner. I don't have the original stereo, or MID unit, so I can't change any settings (time, date, etc.) on the dash. The units go for silly prices on ebay, but I've found something similar on a local selling site. It's a CD73, and looks ...

WANTED. MID unit
I've just bought my E53, and it already had an aftermarket stereo fitted, which is great, but it means I don't have the original MID to allow me to set the clock etc.. So, anyone got a spare for a sensible price? Or maybe someone local to me in Gloucester I could 'borrow' one from for 10 minutes ...

Re: Z4 or SLK
No, I meant an SLK. It's not the current model. It's an R171, the one with the 'F1 inspired nose'.
Yes,mit could be seen as a hairdressers car, but who cares?
Anyway, you asked for an SLK initially!

I've never been in a Z4, but my wife has an SLK 350. Absolutely fantastic car. Loads of fun, power and reliability.

He kept it moving, though! Bit of a knob head behind him, far too close and wanting to overtake!
