Issues with key remote – locking & unlocking
Fob battery has recently been replaced so this is not the issue. Past couple of days I’ve been having to press the fob button a few times before it will lock unlock. This morning, nothing at all so had to use metal key inside fob to unlock car which in turn set off alarm. Put fob against steering c ...

Mine was playing up (just the once) a few months back. I rebooted the IDrive system and its been fine ever since.
If you Google reboot/reset BMW IDrive you'll find how to do it fairly easily. Hope it works for you.

Re: EGR cooler recall. Has yours been done?
The recall is to check the EGR only to see if its effected.. Took me all of 3 hours in garage and mine was fine to drive away with a clean bill of health. If its a faulty EGR then there is a "global" backlog which could be a week or 3 (possibly longer) before part is delivered in which case you get ...

Oil sensor
My beast was very low on oil but in car display was reading max level so can only assume the sensor is goosed.
Is this an expensive fix?
Not too fussed as i'll revert back to checking the old dip stick but would have been handy to know I was almost dry.

Looks like you had a good time Stu although clockwise and summer are definitely the best way and time to do it. Summer brings the midge of course but its a smallish price to pay. ![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/wink.gif)

I have a 2012 X3 3 litre diesel.
How do you tell the power train of the car? i.e. is it an N57, N52 or N55?
TIA
Steve

Re: North Coast 500
Pleasure mate. Of course it all depends which way you are doing it. We went clockwise and started from Inverness - Lochcarron over the Bealach na ba into Applecross and headed up to Durness etc. Some folks do it anti clockwise. Either way its a beautiful run. I've been going up that way for years ...

Loads of places to stay. Would recommend the following if you're planning on doing in in 4 days. This is what we did and great fun.

Re: 30D super low fuel efficiency, why bruv?
On normal runs (work, short trips etc) I'm now averaging 32 mpg. A 5 hour trip to Applecross recenty I got 38 mpg and that was with a hefty roofbox.
Safe to say this beast is heavy but a small (ish) price to pay for one helluva machine![Cool 8)](./images/smilies/cool.gif)

I just bought from here. Great price compared to Halfords.
Went for the Delphin 340 litre box and Cruz roof bars.
