thanks for the feedback AW8 & PVR.

my previous X5 (55 plate) did not have winter tyres and we had a difficult time in the French alps, hence my decision to purchase spare wheels with winter tyres this time round!. At that time we had no option but to buy very expensive snow chains in the alps ...

E70 snow chains on front or back wheels?

Hi,
Can anyone advise if snow chains should be fitted to the front OR rear wheels?
it seems logical to me to fit them on the front so you have control over steering the car! but bmw docs seem to suggest these should be on the rear wheels!!
your experience on using snow chains would be appreciated ...

Thanks for the feedback,
The car came with an AA 6month warranty, will need to check if this is covered.......

Has anyone else had a similar problem?

Others have suggested the trye type and remaining tread depth could be the problem......?

Judering at low speed / when wheels turned

Hi, new to the forum,
I've just purchased an X5 3.0D SE 2012 and notice a juddering (feels like the font) on the wheels when pulling away/turning, only at low speeds. no impact when the car reaches 15-20 mph.

Have read a couple of posts about drive shaft recalls .......... thought it may be ...
