Stock speaker improve
I think im not the only one to think the 4 speakers in the stock audio setup is awful. I want to improve the sound somewhat but not by adding a huge sub in the boot etc or cutting into the tray next to the battery. Can I just upgrade 4 speakers and get a decent gain or must I add a sub under the ...

Re: Halogen Headlight quality
Hi All. Update. I got Osram Night Breaker Laser H7s for the dipped and H1s for the mains. Main headlights have a big big huge difference, definitely noticeable. Dipped beam however I cant see any difference!! Might as well not spent the extra as they were dam expensive for halogen bulbs. Im stumped ...

Re: x5 3.0D Intermittant Power loss low REVS
Hi All. Sorted it finally. I had another look and the EGR valve control solenoid was a no name brand type. I got a Pierburg version and voila all sorted. Oh my gosh, dont scrimp on parts.

Re: Halogen Headlight quality
Thanks for the help. Decided to go for Osram nightbreaker series. Little worried about running HID's and my car isnt certified to run them.
Insurance implications etc. Also bought a kit to polish and clear up the lenses, they dont look happy. Hope all the small improvements add up.

Re: Halogen Headlight quality
Sorry, forgot to day that Im a sucker for the whiter HID type lights 4500-5000k range. Standard HID type, not the bluer 6000-10000k
The stock yellow halogens are a travesty on a car like this,
Halogen or HID kit experience that anyone can recommend.
Thanks

Halogen Headlight quality
I have a standard Halogen bulb setup for main and dipped. To say the least that even upgrading to white light bulbs they are woeful. On the motorway any car I go past or that passes me, their spread is way better, This includes corsas and KA's :(, sad. Any recommendations for other Halogen Brands or ...

Re: Stalling or Insufficient EGR error
Update: No real luck so far. After resetting and then unplugging MAF, resetting and then unplugging MAP,resetting and then unplugging Camshaft position sensor I still got P4501 with the relevent unplugged sensor error each time. So I dont think its any of those sensors So I have located, downloaded ...

Re: Stalling or Insufficient EGR error
Its not a Pieburg but not a cheapo. went for middle range in price. Car is behaving same as it was before changing EGR valve and solenoid, telling me those weren't the culprits. EGR error on 2nd startup and then later on after warmed up the rough idle/stall and no power at all syndrome. Changed MAP ...

Re: Stalling or Insufficient EGR error

If its of any help, I do still have the swirl flaps installed also operated via vacuum. In my view after all the work I have had done. I have replaced EGR valve and EGR vacuum ...

Re: Stalling or Insufficient EGR error
I should have added that I initially took the car for diagnostics and the code retrieved was 4501 : Digital Diesel Electronics(DDE) Exhaust Gas Re circulation (EGR) Control Deviation 4262 : Digital Diesel Electronics(DDE) Cylinder 6 glow plug activation. I was quoted the better part of £700 to ...

Stalling or Insufficient EGR error
Hi All. I recently had a situation one day when driving the car would barely pull and then refused to idle and die. A half educated guess that it was getting too much EGR flow and I pulled the vacuum pipe off the input onto the EGR valve (just to get me home). Presto and the car ran perfectly. I got ...

X5 e70 Halogen to HID conversion kit, worth it?
I have read lots of rhetoric online about HID conversion kits, their legality and effectiveness. I have upgraded my cars halogen bulbs to the best Philips Halogens I think I can buy and they are still aweful. From what it appears I have projectors for the dipped beams and have rear self leveling ...
