Self Levelling
I have been messing with the ride height on the G05 and now get the message Levelling Temporarily Unavailable! Left the car for an hour and it still isn't working and the green LED bar isn't lit on the centre console. Any ideas?

Re: Towbar storage bin
Leslie,
Will let you know. I’ve ordered it off Amazon so will return if not. It should fit as I have had a Brinks tow hitch fitted which is the one BMW fit although it’s badged BMW but Brinks confirmed they are the supplier to BMW.

Re: Towbar storage bin
They're dead easy to fit. The use the wheel arch extender fixing rivets and have 3m adhesive strips down the side where they meat the body of the car. Mine have been on over a year and have never moved. You don't need to remove the wheels either.

Re: Towbar storage bin
If you follow the earlier posts https://xdrivers.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16501 you'll see pictures of how they fit. I bought mine from Amazon as their returns policy is excellent and knew that if they didn't fit I could return them. They of course did fit! Links to the items are here https://www ...

Towbar storage bin
I fitted a Brinks tow bar to my F15 M sport but because it wasn't a factory fit I didn't get the under-boot floor storage bin for the swan-neck tow hitch. There is one advertised on e-bay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-Genuine-Trailer-Coupling-Tow-Hitch-Ball-Storage-Tray-E70-X5-71606772223 ...

Diesel knock - daft question.
I've never owned the 3.0D before and am really pleased with how smooth and tractable an engine it is. What was unexpected though is the diesel knock at light throttles when pulling away but soon goes as the revs increase. Is this characteristic of all the straight 6 diesels?

Re: X5 - towing capacity increase
You'll have no problem. I pull a Swift Challenger 630 twin axle with mine and no problems at all. Never gets hot and pulls like a train. I bought an ex-demo so no bar fitted so put a Westfalia on from PF Jones with BMW wiring harness that gives 12v charging and fridge supply that BMW leave off. All ...

Re: Coding help needed - SUCCESS
Done it. Got the Tow Hitch Zoom feature working. It is so easy with the Bimmercode App after all. Bit the bullet and paid £23 for the ODB II adaptor off Amazon and £25 to un-lock the coding in the App. So £48 in total. Seems a lot to pay but my local franchised dealer refused to do it because they di ...

Re: Coding help needed

Does anyone know how to code the mirrors to fold with a quick press of the lock button on the remote, rather than holding it down, as the sunshade closes when you hold the button down?
Yup, I did it yesterday as it annoyed me. I did it with BimmerCode ...

Carly Capability
Has anyone with a Carly dongle and app been able to code the MACRO_TRAILER_COUPLING option? I want to switch on the Tow-hitch zoom feature but I'm loathe to spend close to £100 for the dongle and app if it can't turn the parameter to active. I do have the full 360 cameras fitted so it should be ...

Keeps the crud off the side of the car and the black on white looks ok to me.

Bought the stock set off BMW direct and just fitted the front ones, perfect! Will fit the rear after my towbar is fitted this weekend. It seems BMW dealers don't know what will or won't fit

Re: Retro fit an Electrronic Towbar
I am in same boat and have discovered that the only cost effective option is a detachable swan neck for around £600 with dedicated electrics.
