Automatic headlights use a sensor, LDW uses a camera. If you have the speed limit info option then there will be a camera for that but not without.

Mine definitely got a camera, when I asked the dealer why there is a camera he said it's for automatic headlight.

I enquired about a reversing camera and was quoted £600 , but 18 months on I find I’m perfectly able to look out the windows and use mirrors (plus parking sensors) to park the F25 with no bother. Save your cash i say.

Agreed, even I'm used to it now

Have a look at bmwcoders on line.
I think you need an FSC licence key to enable it, and a bit of coding

Thanks, let me check it up

Can I Activate Lane Departure System
Hello all,
In my new X3 I do not have lane departure system activated, but I do have the camera on the windscreen. So my question is , can I code this? or activate it?
What speed(s) are the problem? My car gets a bit noisy at speeds >50mph, seems to involve some kind of resonance in the cabin. Do a web search for "bmw x3 exhaust boom" and you'll find some links.
As you mentioned when I hit 50+ it’s feels like I have left my sunroof open. ...

Common with all recent X’s in my experience. BMWs are noisier due to removal of sound deadening and addition of runflats. My X6 is much louder than my E53 was. I thought there was something wrong too.

Many thanks for the info

Road Noise
Hello
I have a 3 week old X3 35d and the road noise is terrible when comparing to my old Volvo.
Is this is a common no issue with X3s? or do I need a visit to dealer?
