Re: Latest satnav version
Just for those interested, I have just downloaded the 2019-1 satnav update for my 2016 F15 X5 3.0D M Sport. It has free updates until the end of this month so I have been checking to get it before it expires. It is NBT EUROPE Next 2019-1.

Re: Automatic headlights
I have a 2016 F15 X5 3.0D M Sport with adaptive Bi-Xenon headlights and main beam assist. They work the same as the latest "split beam" headlights where both main beams operate independently of each other. The sensitivity of the main beams is excellent and the way in which the main beams move to ...

Re: Cherished number
Providing that your present car is currently taxed, just put your private plate on retention and fit original number as the VED continues to be valid, regardless of the reg number. I think that the car does not have to be taxed to change your plates. I believe you will only need to SORN your car if ...

Re: Cherished number
Just log onto DVLA website, they have full, simple instructions there.
Costs £80 to place on retention but nothing to re-assign to new vehicle. The original reg number must be assigned to your old vehicle. Very quick and easy to do.

Re: 2016 F15 X5 3.0D M Sport Adaptive headlights
Hi, thanks for your reply, they are definitely Bi-Xenons in the main beams and H7 in the inner lights. I had a 2017 F25 X3 with Icon Adaptive LED's before this X5. Also VIN info confirms Xenon Adaptive lights.

Update.
My Connected Drive Services were unavailable for a while yesterday morning, with no satnav or radio / CD player.
However later around midday I checked and all was working and lo and behold the satnav version showed the same 2017-2, highlighted in red and on scrolling down it then displayed ...

I have also just checked the Connected Drive Portal and am unable to login. I can click on the login box and a hand appears but nothing happens and it advises to try later. Obviously a problem.

Re: Latest satnav version
My understanding is that the downloads are definitely "free over the air" for 3 years and 3 months and I do not need to use a USB drive as they are done automatically over the air. I am just trying to find out if there is a newer version which should be automatically downloaded.

Latest satnav version
Hi all, I have just purchased a September 2017 F25 X3 which has the 3 years of free satnav downloads included. The satnav version showing is Europe EVO 2017-2.

Re: X5 40d fuel consumption
I have a 2015 F15 3.0D M Sport and get around 33-35mpg on local roads, up to 37-38MPG on long journeys.
I have Comfort setting most of the time, using Sport for a quick getaway or overtaking.
I try drive at the relevant speed limit but don't thrash the car as fuel economy is down to your driving ...

Clumsy b*****ds >:(. Feel very sorry for you, some people just don't care. They don't appreciate how hard we work to afford some better things in life.

Re: X5 M50d wheel alignment
Hi, it may be that the steering toe-in/toe-out had to be slightly adjusted but that the adjustment was carried out on one track rod only, instead of equal amounts to both offside and nearside track rods.
It only needs a small adjustment to make the steering wheel become off centre. Adjusting only ...
