Well only time will tell I suppose but I will be sure to keep you posted regardless.

Re: 2007 E83 2.0 manual transfer case problems.
It wont last long~1000miles will brake again. You can not use shims in clutch system.
Got the transfer case back together quite some time ago after refitting took it to get programmed and it would not allow the computer to do its thing so the motor had to be replaced as well ...

Re: 2007 E83 2.0 manual transfer case problems.
Right people I recently got around to stripping and inspecting the transfer box. Not quite as much damage as I would have liked to see. (In regards to being certain this is 100% the fault is. The two bearings in the clutch pack were slightly pitted along with the spreader arms. The clutch itself ...

Re: 2007 E83 2.0 manual transfer case problems.
Yes but what I am asking is ...... Is there is any way I can test manually that would shine some light on the situation. Like a visual inspection, dropping the oil and inspecting for fillings, or the likes? I have always been trained that a code only points you in the direction of the fault. Or is ...

Re: 2007 E83 2.0 manual transfer case problems.
Ok. So what the best way to confirm it is the transfer box before taking further action? I have had the prop shafts of spinning the flanges and can't feel any knocks.
Do the actuators/resistors ever go, or are the usually ok?

Re: 2007 E83 2.0 manual transfer case problems.
Only one mismatching and it is a very recent edition to the car. (Last couple of weeks that is and the problem pre exists the tyre) Yeh a bit of a gamble for tyres all round would be a kick in the arse off of £600. Think I will wait till I get home jack it up at all corners, drive and see if this ...

This is what he sent me when I asked him what was on it....... http://i64.tinypic.com/vrwztu.png Would jacking all wheels off ground, supporting on axle stands and putting into first and letting them run not let me know if it was down to traction bais or Incorrect slippage readings that are caused ...

Re: 2007 E83 2.0 manual transfer case problems.
Excellent artical. It has cleared up a few woes about the issues I have upon the tyres being at fault, Due to difference in tread and traction the on board computers detect too much slip and it is applying the brake. In the case of the warnings either the damage is done to the transfer box or has ...

Re: 2007 E83 2.0 manual transfer case problems.
Don't suppose you would happen to know the fuse number and which fuse box it is in would you?
Yeh if the box is gone and with the added cost of new Tyres there will be every chance the car may be the end of the line for this one.

Re: 2007 E83 2.0 manual transfer case problems.
Fixing it on behalf of a friend of the family. Yeh all fingures are pointing at tyres being first thing to try, just don't want to turn it into a money pit. The owner said it started of an intermittent fault and with the faults unable to clear, Would usually point me towards an electrical fault. I'm ...
