I've changed a few glow plugs in my time, always a scary job...thanks for the info, most helpful... il look to order in the morning..

I have some leak detector fluid/soapy water so gonna give the pipework a good looking at tomorrow as well...

Thanks, it's just strange for all the faults to come together... il change the glow plugs and controller see what happen,

Would the part number be on the controller and glow plugs? Don't want to get them wrong

Finally can the controller  be changed without programming?

Hi, it's a 57 plate and its on 10k miles,

I was thinking that perhaps the glow plug controller has gone as it has been rough starting/idling for a bot amd if the glow plugs ain't running properly once the is running then it's going to run  poor and more soot and crap to block stuff up.

I have the fault list, most of the faults seem to be relating to emissions stuff.

Particulate filter system faulty
Comms between glow duration and engine control unit faulty
Glow plugs 1 amd 4 atenuation faulty
Multi function steering wheel faulty
Boost pressure deviation
Engine oil quality ...

Thanks for replies I'm off to collect the car now, if it was dpf I thought a dpf light would come on. I've read something about the turbos being a little weak,

The car was diagnosed at a halfords autocentre

My wife was driving her X3 when the DDE light came on. The car lost power and still runs but I presume in limp mode as it's got no power.

Took it to the garage and they had fault diagnosed it to have 11 faults.... they don't seem to know what's up though. All the faults ...
